It all began over three decades ago when my parents bought a 1970s Series III. Despite its reputation for being unreliable, I was captivated. That Land Rover, affectionately named Prue, sparked a lifelong passion.

By the age of 16, I had my very own Land Rover. I spent a year rebuilding her on a gravel driveway in Cornwall. 20+ years on, I still own and cherish her - proof that these vehicles truly become part of the family.

Since moving to Australia, other Land Rovers have joined the fold including; ‘Old Girl’, my 109” Series IIIA, ‘Tray-back’, my 109 ute and, my 1950 80-inch (you can follow our adventures over on at @dobbo_down_under’).

Recognition and Contributions

My deep involvement in the Land Rover world has led to some exciting roles:

  • Australian Ambassador for Exmoor Trim, Maxxis Tyres, Kincrome and Autosparks Ltd, LOF Clutches - companies renowned for their high-quality parts.

  • Columnist for Land Rover Monthly Magazine, where I share vehicle reviews, product insights, and tales from behind the wheel.

The Workshop

Now based in Brisbane, I run a specialised workshop dedicated to the preservation and restoration of classic Land Rovers—from the earliest 1948 models through to 2015. Every project is carried out with meticulous attention to detail, blending authenticity with craftsmanship.
